ALBANY – A US firm has launched a new series of solvent-free silicone products for textile coatings. The curable Room Temperature Vulcanizate (RTV) and liquid silicone rubber (LSR) products from Momentive Performance Materials do not contain any added organotins, phthalates, formaldehyde or solvents. Uses include a range of consumer, industrial and healthcare textile coating applications, including apparel and home furnishings.

SOUTH CAROLINA – Alexium has signed new development partnership agreements with Bruck Textiles, Australia’s biggest textile manufacturer, and Wilbur Ross’s International Textile Group (ITG), for its environmentally friendly RST treatment technology.

Terry Richardson gives himself the Terry Richardson treatment in the Fall/Winter issue of Vogue Hommes International ‘s Fall Winter 2011 issue. How’s that for meta? The famed photographer turned the camera around on himself, photographing a series of self-portraits for the fashion mag in an editorial called “Reinvention.” According to Design Scene the shoot features clothes from Dolce & Gabbana, Bottega Veneta, Gucci, Tom Ford and Yves Saint Laurent, and the result is pure, classic Terry , complete with goofy expressions, semi-nude creepiness and that omnipresent white background.

“I mean, the funny thing is I always wanted to get dressed for Halloween…[but] I’m not very good at getting dressed up. I’m going out with a friend, I’m sort of taking it easy…I just feel terribly grateful for a lot of things. Just understanding what’s happening in the world.
