Chanel Couture Helps a Doll “Face” Fall

Fall runway beauty makeup trends 2011

SHOP THE LOOK: lace birdcage veil – VintageBirdCageVeils.com; eyeshadow – Dior 5-Colour Designer All-In-One Artistry Palette; pressed powder – Guerlain Météorites Compact Powder Teint Dore; lipstick – Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupte

Although some of the silhouettes on the Chanel F’11 Couture runway were a tad tricky – in particular, the structured-peplum tunics layered over floor-length hobble skirts that flared out at the ankle, echoing the bell-shape of the peplum above – the smoky eye, polished skin & nude lip are all pretty foolproof. For an added air of mystery, be sure to take another page from Kaiser Karl’s playbook with the perfect finishing touch: a Madmen-worthy birdcage-veil in black.
